The Promise and Challenges of the Green Energy Economy in New York’s Southern Tier: reflections and projections for the future after two years of
Green Jobs Green New York.
Tuesday December 10
Lost Dog Cafe Violet Room
Self-pay dinner at 6pm. The program begins at 7:30.
In the Southern Tier, the consortium promoting home energy efficiency improvements through New York’s Green Jobs Green NY (GJGNY) program was number one in total retrofits and energy assessments in the state. GJGNY Southern Tier regional coordinator Adam Flint will discuss lessons learned from this experience, and what needs to happen to make our region a leader in cleaner greener energy.
The focus will be on expanding the social marketing approach pioneered in our area by the Energy Leadership Program at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County. Homeowners interested in upgrading their homes should bring one copy of each of their energy bills to sign up for the program at this event.
This program is sponsored by the Kopernik Observatory, Binghamton University Science Café, and Binghamton Community Lab, a joint project of the BU Binghamton Neighborhood Project and the Binghamton Regional Sustainability Coalition.
